Rock Up and Run: Healthy Living, Good Company and Giving Back

Held on the first Sunday of every month, Rock Up and Run at Hops Ballito is a popular free community run and/or walk that brings people together for movement, fun and a meaningful cause.

Created as a zero-pressure event, the concept is simple: just arrive, choose a distance that suits you and enjoy being part of a welcoming group. There is no need to register in advance, no expectation to chase personal bests and no focus on pace. Instead, Rock Up and Run encourages people to embrace healthier habits in an uplifting, social setting.

Whether participants choose the 4 km walk, 5.6 km run or 7 km run, the event offers an easy and enjoyable way to get outdoors, become more active and meet like-minded people. It is particularly appealing to those who may find exercising alone intimidating, providing a supportive environment where every level of fitness is welcome.

The experience continues after the finish line, with participants able to enjoy a complimentary beer, wine or coffee or purchase other beverages while connecting with fellow runners and walkers. This relaxed post-run gathering has become an important part of the event, turning a morning of exercise into a shared monthly social occasion.
